The challenge
Renters in Dar pay a dalali for homes that are often described dishonestly. The person who knows a home best is the tenant moving out, and the landlord has to agree without installing anything.
What I did
- Living here ratings by tenants: water, power and LUKU, security, flooding, noise and transport
- The landlord approves each listing by SMS, in Kiswahili or English, with no app or account
- Finder fee held by Faulisha and refunded if the landlord doesn't confirm within 72 hours
- Ganji pass (TSh 5,000 a week) unlocks full notes and visits, paid by M-Pesa, Mixx, Airtel Money or HaloPesa
- Bilingual clickable prototype with a demo dock to switch people and fast-forward time
